Check out this informative and interesting video featuring Tim Farmer and his good friend, Scott, who is an experienced dog trainer, as they discuss how best to get started with training young border colleis to become bonafide sheep dogs!

Scott has been working with Tim’s young border collie, Murphy, over the past few weeks and shows how much he’s learned and progressed over that time.  In this video, you get to learn some basic theory and positive reinforcement techniques to teach your own border collie some basic herding commands… assuming of course, you have access to some acreage and a flock of sheep! 😉

What started with a little joke ended up in a hilarious online video. When this man pretends to steal his Australian Shepherds nose, he was just being funny, but to his surprise, she took him seriously.

Whether she really understood what he was saying or just knew the tone of his voice, it looks and sounds like she truly believes that he stole her nose. She becomes bossy and starts vocally demanding he return it.

Dogs can often be extremely intelligent beings, maybe more then we even realize. This dogs owner is now questioning just how much she really understands!

What is the name of your border collie?
Bailey

How old is he?
1.5 years old

How did Bailey become part of your family? (adoption, breeder, etc…)
Was adopted as a puppy from a dog trainer whom had an accidental litter.

Does he have any special talents or tricks?
Bailey is great at learning commands. He learnt twist in 5 minutes and now doesn’t stop spinning. He has a huge obsession with sticks and once found a log that had drifted through the river and managed to drag is around 50ft before admitting defeat.

What is the one thing that you love the most about having a border collie as a pet?
The thing I love the most is how loyal and comforting he is. He will protect you but also give you so much love in return for the slightest bit of affection.

Do you have any interesting or funny stories to share about your border collie?
Bailey once stole a ball from a young child and ran across a huge field with it because he thought it was his from home. Mom wasn’t impressed having to retrieve the ball to hand back to the child. Bailey also fell off a canal path and had to be fished out.

What else do you want people to know about your border collie?
Bailey is a great companion and would not live without his best friend, star. The black and white cat. They are inseparable and we love the bond they have.
